January
In January we have been Exploring light and Sound! Students have thrived in learning all about our body parts and senses and what we need as living things. In Math we continued to work on numbers and operations up to 20, sorting categories and 2-D Shapes. In ELA we read books about exploring our senses and had so much fun reading "Grumpy Mr. G" and "What does Paris hear?" Students worked on identifying key details in stories and problem solving. We continued our Journey in Letter land and are working on our Blends of " BL and CL" words along with letter recognition and CVC words. We learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and his "I have a Dream speech" using visuals and text. We had a blast in Music class and enjoyed a visit from our Frankie Friends. At our recent Family partnership day we made Snowmen, pinned the carrot on a snowman's nose and blasted snow cups all over the place with plush snow balls, it was a winter delight! We are so excited about next month from celebrating Valentine's Day to taking a field trip to Flour Power for our next Family and School Partnership Day!
